Boards and Committees Bylaw Amendment C-1422E
Council gave three readings to Bylaw C-1422E, an amendment to the Boards and Committees Bylaw. The amendment adds a reference to the Community Advisory Board on Housing and Homelessness and updates membership for the Housing and Homelessness Advisory Committee to include one voting Council member.
2026 Business Improvement Area Tax Bylaw C-1494
Council gave three readings to Bylaw C-1494, the 2026 Business Improvement Area Tax Bylaw. The bylaw authorizes the Business Improvement Area tax for businesses operating within the downtown commercial district to support initiatives and activities that benefit the area.
272649 AB. Ltd. Development Agreement Obligations
Council approved allocating $2,416,540.68 from deferred developer securities, with $1,301,319.87 directed to outstanding off-site transportation levies and $1,115,220.81 toward completing development projects. The funding is an amendment to the 2026 Capital Plan.
Correspondence
Council directed Mayor Clayton to sign the Unanimous Consent for discretionary dividends, as requested by Aquatera Utilities Inc., on behalf of the City of Grande Prairie. The consent allows Aquatera to proceed with discretionary dividend distributions to its municipal shareholders.
2026 Large Scale Tourism Grant Recommendations
Council approved 2026 Large Scale Tourism Grant funding for three major community events: $25,000 for GrandeCon, $25,000 for the Grande Prairie Traditional Pow Wow and $50,000 for the Grande Prairie Regional Air Show. The grants support events that draw visitors and showcase Grande Prairie.
