The City of Grande Prairie is advancing its 2025 capital construction season with road rehabilitation beginning as early as June 18 on 68 Avenue between 108 Street and 116 Street.
Work in Pinnacle Ridge is scheduled to begin around June 26 at the following locations:
- Pinnacle Boulevard between Pinnacle Drive and 114 Street.
- 114 Street between Pinnacle Boulevard and Pinnacle Drive.
The work includes asphalt milling, storm sewer repairs, Full Depth Reclamation (FDR), asphalt overlay paving, spot concrete replacement, re-establishing road line markings and crosswalks and final landscaping. Asphalt overlay is being used in areas that require surface improvements but not full reconstruction, helping to extend road life and improve driving comfort.
During construction, traffic is maintained but limited to alternating single lanes, with a reduced speed limit of 30 km/h in active work zones. Short-term closures may occur, and access for local traffic will be maintained. Sidewalks and pathways will remain open. Drivers are asked to follow signage and directions from flag persons.
Transit Impacts
Nearby transit routes may be affected during construction. Riders are encouraged to check cityofgp.com/transit, use the GP MyRide On-Demand app or view the Where’s My Ride bus tracker when planning their trip. Service updates will be shared on the website to provide further details on transit impacts as they arise.
