(Grande Prairie, Alta. – January 23, 2026) – The City of Grande Prairie invites the community to celebrate Family Day, presented by New Horizon Co-op, with a full afternoon of free activities on Sunday, Feb. 15, from 12 to 4 p.m.

Families are invited to enjoy free facility access and swimming at Eastlink Centre, along with free drop-in skating at Design Works Centre. Skate rentals will be available at no cost while supplies last.

The Family Day celebration includes a mix of returning favourites and new activities for all ages, including fieldhouse games and inflatables, a Wibit inflatable obstacle course in the 50-metre competition pool, an eSport game lounge, treat decorating, a quiet craft corner, snacks and prizes.

All Family Day activities are free and open to all ages.

“Family Day brings people together in simple, meaningful ways,” said Mayor Jackie Clayton. “By offering free activities for all ages, we’re creating an opportunity for families and neighbours to share time, feel welcome and enjoy community life. Thank you to New Horizon Co-op for supporting a celebration that’s open to everyone.”

“New Horizon Co-op is happy to team up with the City to support Family Day, a free event that brings everyone together for some fun. We’re glad to be part of a celebration that helps connect our community,” said Jody Peakman, Director of Community Engagement.

Please note Eastlink Centre aquatics will be unavailable for public access from 4 to 5 p.m. to allow for a facility reset, with public swimming resuming from 5 to 8:30 p.m.
