(Grande Prairie, Alta. – February 9, 2026) – The City of Grande Prairie is inviting local businesses, educators and community organizations to take part in the Youth Career Discovery Expo on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Bonnetts Energy Centre.

The Youth Career Discovery Expo connects teens and young adults aged 14 to 30 with employers and training organizations from across the region. Throughout the day, young people will have the opportunity to explore career pathways, learn about education and training opportunities and speak directly with professionals about what working in different industries looks like.

Exhibitors play a key role in shaping the experience by sharing their knowledge and offering engaging, hands-on activities that help career pathways feel real and accessible. Whether through demonstrations, interactive displays or conversations about future opportunities, participating organizations help youth better understand the possibilities available within their community.

The City is especially encouraging employers with entry-level positions or summer job opportunities for youth to participate, helping young people take their first steps toward meaningful work.

“The Youth Career Discovery Expo is about building relationships and opening doors for our youth,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “When local organizations share their experiences and passion, it gives young people the confidence to explore new paths and see a future for themselves right here in our community.”

The Youth Career Discovery Expo is supported through funding from the Tamarack Institute through the Youth Employer Skills Strategy (YESS) grant.
