The City of Grande Prairie is proud to host the 2026 Canadian Wrestling Championships from April 24 to 26, 2026, welcoming U15, U17 and U19 athletes from across Canada to compete.

This event brings together top young wrestling talent from across the country, offering athletes a chance to compete at a national level and gain valuable experience. As part of Wrestling Canada Lutte’s mission to grow the sport nationwide, the championships promise an exciting showcase of emerging talent. 

The championship is expected to attract hundreds of competitors, coaches, officials and family members, making it a boost for local tourism and hospitality through filling hotels, restaurants and attractions throughout the region. 

“We are proud to host the Canadian Wrestling Championships and carry on Grande Prairie’s legacy as a games city” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “We look forward to welcoming all the athletes and their supporters, and cheering on all the energy this championship brings to our city.”
