The City of Grande Prairie is now accepting nominations for the 2025 Volunteer Awards, celebrating the outstanding individuals and organizations that make a lasting impact in the community. Nominations are open until October 17, 2025.

Two award categories are available:

  • George Repka Outstanding Achievement Award – Recognizes individuals who have made a major contribution in recreation, culture, or social services to the community. Nominees must have exhibited 20+ years of service in these areas, with notable achievements that have significantly benefitted the City of Grande Prairie.
  • Bill Bowes Volunteer Organization of the Year Award – Honours volunteer organizations or foundations in Grande Prairie that have provided outstanding contributions to the community through service, voluntary initiatives, fundraising, and exemplary community development. Nominees must be located within the City of Grande Prairie and demonstrate achievements that have had a direct, positive effect on residents.

“Volunteers play an essential role in the quality of life we enjoy in Grande Prairie,” said Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton. “These awards allow us to acknowledge the individuals and organizations whose commitment and service have created lasting benefits for our community.”

Community members are encouraged to submit nominations for both award categories. The recipients will be announced later this fall, with special recognition provided by the City of Grande Prairie.
