The City of Grande Prairie is extending the nomination period for the 2025 Bill Bowes Volunteer Organization of the Year Award to provide an additional opportunity to celebrate the groups that strengthen our community through service. Nominations are open until December 31, 2025.

The award recognizes organizations or foundations in Grande Prairie that have significantly contributed to the wellbeing of residents through volunteer-driven programs, fundraising, community development and ongoing support for local needs. Eligible organizations must be located within the City of Grande Prairie and demonstrate achievements that have made a direct and positive impact in the community.

The award honours groups whose efforts have made a meaningful and lasting difference in Grande Prairie, whether visible or behind the scenes.

“Many of the most important contributions to community life come from organizations that work together, support members of our community and quietly lift up people who need it,” said Mayor Jackie Clayton. “These awards give us a chance to shine a light on those unseen heroes whose dedication builds connection and pride in our city. I encourage residents to nominate groups who inspire them.”

Recipients of the Bill Bowes Volunteer Organization of the Year Award will be announced in 2026 and recognized by Grande Prairie City Council.
