The City of Grande Prairie announces the commencement of its fall and winter tree pruning program. This initiative, set to run from November 2023 to April 2024, aims to enhance the safety, beauty, and overall health of our urban greenery.

This season, the City's extensive tree pruning plan broadly encompasses numerous subdivisions, with the following areas included:

  • College Park
  • Copperwood
  • Countryside South
  • Mission Heights (Kateri Drive and South)
  • Royal Oaks
  • Westgate
  • Center West Business Park
  • Vision West

It's important to note that while these subdivisions are part of the plan, the City of Grande Prairie is committed to addressing tree maintenance needs city-wide. If a tree requires attention and is not on the list above, it will be addressed.

“Regular pruning is essential for the safety of residents and the overall well-being of City trees in our community,” said Mayor Jackie Clayton. “By maintaining our urban forest, the City of Grande Prairie ensures that trees remain in good health, reducing the likelihood of pests and disease, while enhancing the natural beauty of our surroundings.”

The City of Grande Prairie thanks its residents for their understanding and cooperation as crews work to create a safer and more beautiful community for all.
