Commuters are advised of upcoming traffic impacts related to underground utility work being completed on behalf of Eastlink in the Arbour Hills area beginning March 9. Work is expected to continue through April 11.
Work will begin along Arbour Hills Boulevard (east and west sections) on March 9, with work on 132 Avenue estimated to begin around March 15.
What to Expect
- Traffic will be intermittently reduced to a single lane, with temporary traffic signals directing vehicles.
- No vehicular detours are anticipated.
- The east sidewalk will be temporarily closed in select areas, with pedestrians directed to the west sidewalk at St. John Paul II high school.
- The south sidewalk along 132 Avenue will have pedestrian detours around the work zone.
- Work will take place between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., except between 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. on school days to reduce impacts during peak traffic times near nearby schools.
This work is separate from the roadway rehabilitation completed by the City last construction season and will not affect that work.
Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time and follow posted signage.
