The City of Grande Prairie's annual free community barbecue and family entertainment event is set for Tuesday, June 12 – rain or shine.
Municipal Government Day runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Revolution Place (10017 99 Avenue).
This 16th Municipal Government Day features a barbecue and family entertainment including face painting, bouncy castles, henna, sand art, a City equipment display, as well as municipal and community information exhibits. Activities will be indoors and outdoors, weather permitting.
Other highlights of the event include: the Amazing Race in partnership with the Grande Prairie Get Active Network, a friendly regional municipalities competition, and a youth art contest. More details on the contest are available at cityofgp.com/youthartcontest.
Free transit is provided from noon to 8 p.m. by City of Grande Prairie Transit Services.
This year's theme is Grande Prairie – 60 Years Strong in recognition that 2018 marks 60 years since Grande Prairie became a City.
