Join the City of Grande Prairie and DownTown Association for the Annual Christmas Tree Light-Up on Sunday, November 26 at the H.A. Rice Plaza at Bonnett’s Energy Centre.
The event starts at 4 p.m. with activities in the plaza until the tree lighting at 4:35 p.m. Free cookies, hot chocolate and candy canes during the Christmas Tree Light-Up are sponsored by Beairsto & Associates Engineering & Survey and available while supplies last. Festivities move into The Bowes at 4:45 p.m. until 7 p.m. with family friendly activities, including visits with Santa.
“City Council is excited to team up with our partner, the DownTown Association, to bring our community the magic of the season at the Christmas Tree Light-Up event,” said Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton. “We invite residents to gather as a community and enjoy holiday activities, hot chocolate, candy canes and carolers while embracing the warmth, joy and togetherness of this event.”

The Battle of the Badges hockey game, featuring the Grande Prairie Fire Department playing against the Grande Prairie R.C.M.P., begins inside Bonnetts Energy Centre at 6 p.m. with doors opening at 5 p.m.
The Battle of the Badges is hosted by the Grande Prairie Firefighters Association. Spectator seats are available by donation in person with all proceeds going to Sunrise House Youth Emergency Shelter.
