The City of Grande Prairie and DownTown Association invite the community to watch a livestream of the annual Christmas tree lighting on Sunday, November 28.

In accordance with provincial health mandates, no in-person event will take place but both organizations are proud to provide a livestream that residents can tune into at 6:00 p.m. on the City of Grande Prairie Youtube channel. The livestream will also be shared to the Downtown Association and City of Grande Prairie Facebook page.

The event additionally features seasons greetings from Mayor Jackie Clayton and Wendy Bosch, Executive Director of the DownTown Association, and a special message from Santa Claus.

“The Christmas tree lighting downtown is a Grande Prairie tradition we are excited to carry on this year. The livestream is a great opportunity to take part from the comfort of your own home. Join us on YouTube as we spread festive cheer and welcome in the holiday season,” says Mayor Jackie Clayton.

“The special lighting of our Christmas Tree represents all the warmth of the holiday season. The DownTown Association wishes everyone a joyous holiday this year,” says Wendy Bosch, Executive Director of the DownTown Association.

The City of Grande Prairie and DownTown Association encourage everyone to tune in to take part in this annual tradition to kick-off the holiday season.
