Proclamations

Council proclaimed May 21-27 as Paramedic Services Week in Grande Prairie to recognize the value and importance of this vital service and the care it provides.

Grant Funding

Council approved the following grant funding allocations:

  • $1400 of Arts Development Individual Project Grant Funding to McKINDRED
  • $1000 in Pursuit of Excellence Clinic Hosting Grant Funding to the Grande Prairie Tennis Club

Rapid Flashing Lights on 100 Avenue

Council directed Administration to work with the DownTown Association to accommodate their request for the addition of rapid flashing lights on 100 Ave. along a mid-block crossing at 99 St. and 100 St. to enhance pedestrian safety.

2023 Council Advocacy Priorities

Council approved the following list of 2023 Council Advocacy Priorities:

- Electricity Distribution Costs

- Attraction and Retention of Health Care Professionals

- Provincial Support for Industrial Attraction Grant Programs

- Improved Rail Service

- Daycare Shortages

- Local Government Fiscal Framework

- Provincial and Federal Funding for Housing Needs

Land Use Bylaw Amendment C-1260-153

Council passed Land Use Bylaw Amendment C-1260-153. The proposed amendments would rezone the subject area from DC-26 to RT District and facilitate the development of low-medium density housing in the area.

Land Use Bylaw Amendment C-1260-170

Council passed Land Use Bylaw Amendment C-1260-170. The proposed amendments would rezone the subject property from RG to RT and allow this privately-owned vacant lot to be developed for low-medium density residential purposes.
