Delegations

Renee Charbonneau presented to Council about partnering with the City of Ortona, Italy in honour of the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Ortona. Council accepted the information as presented.

Alberta Community Partnership Grant Support

Council endorsed the Alberta Community Partnership grant application to fund the four phases of the Unlocking the Full Potential of Alberta’s Midsized Cities Initiative.

Community Member Appointment – Community Advisory Committee

Council Appointed Beverly McCool to the Community Advisory Committee for a term ending December 31, 2025

Transit System – Extended Hours

Council approved late night transit services that will operate until 11 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Bylaw C-1455 – Police Commission Bylaw

Council passed Bylaw C-1455, being the Police Commission Bylaw. More details to come in a media release at cityofgp.com/news.

Correspondence

Goodwill wrote Council regarding its contributions to Grande Prairie’s economy and community.

The Minister of Advanced Education wrote Council highlighting investments and plans to strengthen Grande Prairie’s healthcare sector through advanced education.

The Minister of Public Safety & Emergency Services wrote Council to confirm authorization to withdraw from its Municipal Police Service Agreement with the Federal Government RCMP.

Council received all three letters for information.
