The Grande Prairie Museum is launching a new exhibit called ‘Mother Earth: Boreal Beauty of the Peace Country’ featuring 82 photos from Sharon Krushel’s book by the same name.

The exhibit launch features an event on December 3 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. including a book signing, storytelling, fun facts about local creatures and species and live music featuring Kelsi McInnes from McKindred.

A 30-minute presentation from Sharon Krushel about the book’s creation with songs begins at 2 p.m. in the Community Room.

All visitors on December 3 will receive a free 5”x7” print of a Canadian Lynx by Colin Ruston, a photographer from Wembley featured in the book. The Mother Earth: Boreal Beauty of the Peace Country book is on sale for a special price of $85 during the event, $10 off its regular price.

About the Mother Earth Book

Mother Earth: Boreal Beauty of the Peace Country was authored by Sharon Krushel and features contributions from 31 photographers and artists to create this book with over 1,200 photos.

The book features photographs and aerial shots of northern lights, flora and fauna species and landscapes.

The exhibit is displayed in the Museum’s Community Room until January 31, 2023 and is free of charge. The exhibit may be unavailable to visit if the room is booked for a private event. Please call the Museum at 780-830-7090 ahead of your visit for viewing.

The Grande Prairie Museum is open Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
