Residents, community groups, educational institutions, local businesses and voluntary organizations are invited to submit nominations for the City of Grande Prairie George Repka Outstanding Achievement and Bill Bowes Volunteer Organization of the Year awards until October 16, 2023.

“Local volunteers have an incredible impact on our community, making it a more inclusive and caring place to live while contributing to so many residents’ quality of life,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton. “We encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the remarkable individuals and organizations you know that are making a difference in our city and nominate them for a local volunteer award.”

The City is looking for nominations for the following volunteer awards:

  • The George Repka Outstanding Achievement Award recognizes individuals who have made a major contribution in the areas of recreation, culture or social services to the community. Nomination forms can be found at cityofgp.com/GeorgeRepka.
  • The Bill Bowes Volunteer Organization of the Year Award recognizes volunteer organizations or foundations in Grande Prairie that have provided outstanding contributions to the community through commendable service, voluntary contributions and exemplary community development having a direct, positive effect on residents of the City of Grande Prairie. Nomination forms can be found at cityofgp.com/BillBowes.

The nomination deadline is Monday, October 16, 2023.
