The City of Grande Prairie’s Local Immigration Partnership (GPLIP) invites all residents to join in the upcoming Welcoming Week celebrations from September 13 to 22.

Welcoming Week aims to connect new arrivals with long-standing residents, fostering a sense of belonging across the community. The week’s events will highlight the extensive support, services, and amenities that Grande Prairie offers, all while building bridges and creating spaces where everyone feels welcome.

This year’s Welcoming Week embraces the theme "We’re All In," calling on everyone—individuals and groups alike—to come together in celebrating strengths, differences, and the diverse perspectives that make a community vibrant. The week-long event is an opportunity to recognize that a community is at its best when it values and embraces the varied backgrounds, experiences, and cultures within it.

“Welcoming Week is a time to reflect on the richness that diversity brings to Grande Prairie,” says Mayor Jackie Clayton. “We encourage everyone to join in the celebration, attend the City’s events, and experience firsthand how ‘We’re All In’ on making our community a welcoming place for everyone.”
