Final preparations are underway to welcome the community to the Grande North Winter Festival on January 13 to 15 with three days of winter fun at three locations.

New activities being added to the event include:

  • Apres Ski in the Bowes Centre with a fireplace and photo backdrops
  • Snow Art, sponsored by Fletcher Mudryk
  • Free admission to the Ice Gardens for children under 12 with a paying adult
  • SkiiTour DJ duo at the Ice Gardens on Friday evening.

Bonnetts Energy Centre- Ticketed Events

  • Ice Gardens Day Pass
    • Live Ice Carving Competition presented by Grande Prairie Regional Tourism, Ice Bar Beverages, Food, Music and Maple Taffy provided by ACFA
  • Exclusive Ice Gardens Party
    • Includes daytime activities plus live DJs and music by Steven Lee Olson with guest Don Amero on Friday and 54-40 with guests Don Amero, The Northbloods and McKindred on Saturday
  • Grande Prairie Storm hockey games

The Grande North Winter Festival is a weekend-long, walkable winter festival downtown that showcases Grande Prairie. The event features activities and entertainment throughout the downtown core including Bonnetts Energy Centre, Montrose Cultural Centre and Muskoseepi Park.

The festival aims to create a unique experience centered around ice and snow to embrace northern winters, provide residents with an event to look forward to during this season, and encourage community connection.
