The City of Grande Prairie is excited to announce the Eastlink Centre as a new recreation facility partner with the Prescription to Get Active program and Grande Prairie’s Primary Care Network (GP PCN).
The Prescription to Get Active program is an initiative where healthcare providers prescribe physical activity to help individuals lead healthier lifestyles. Participants can redeem their prescription for free access to various activities at local recreation partner facilities and organizations, including the Eastlink Centre, to make it easier to get started with regular exercise.
Bringing a valid Prescription to Get Active to the Eastlink Centre gives visitors a complimentary facility tour and two-week trial access.
“We’re excited to create a new partner by launching the Prescription to Get Active program at the Eastlink Centre,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “This is an excellent program that we expect to contribute to healthier lifestyles for our community by encouraging residents to get out and get active!”
"The Prescription to Get Active program is a transformative step forward for the City of Grande Prairie," said Executive Director of Prescription to Get Active, Jeff Tareta. “By working with their healthcare provider, residents can take the first step toward building healthier habits, managing or preventing chronic conditions and improving their overall quality of life."
