The City of Grande Prairie is informing residents that road construction at the intersection of 92 Street and 68 Avenue for milling and repaving work begins Saturday, October 5.

To minimize the impact on commuters, traffic flow on these major arteries is being temporarily reduced to shorten the duration of the maintenance. Commuters are encouraged to plan their routes in advance and allow extra travel time. Flaggers are managing traffic to ensure the safety of workers and drivers.

Please note the following impacts:

  • Timeline: The work is expected to last approximately three days, weather permitting.
  • Detours: Northbound and southbound traffic on 92 Street is being detoured. Follow all directional signage.
  • Truck route: A detour truck route is in place.

Transit impacts: Bus route 9 is temporarily bypassing stop 919. Riders can use stops 917 or 915 instead. For trip planning, visit the City Transit page at cityofgp.com/transit, log into the On Demand app at gpmyride.app.ridewithvia.com, check the Where’s My Bus Tracker, or call 311.

“We understand that this work may cause some inconvenience, but it is essential for maintaining the safety and quality of our roads,” said Capital Construction Supervisor Mark Hoseasson. “Our team is committed to completing the project efficiently and minimizing the impact on residents and commuters.”

The City appreciates your patience and cooperation during construction season.
