Delegations
Susan Schneider, Ken Westguarde and Colin Woodcock presented to Council regarding the cricket pitch and batting cage in Northridge. Council directed Administration to investigate the possibility of moving the batting cage to another location in the park, and report back to the appropriate Standing Committee.
Reports
Council passed amendments to the Utility Bylaw C-1365D to allow Aquatera to adjust fees and commercial terms.
Council supported submission of an Alberta Community Partnership, Mediation & Cooperative Process Grant application with the County of Grande Prairie to fund facilitating services for the Intermunicipal Framework negotiations of the Replacement Cost and Information Sharing agreement.
Committee Business
Council rescinded Policy 112 – Corporate Sponsorship and Policy 111 – Souvenirs and approved Policy 129 – Corporate Sponsorship. Changes to the policy include removal of a formal application process, increased maximum sponsorship amounts and more.
Council approved consolidating Individual Project, Scholarship and Major Project Arts and Culture grant programs into one Community Microgrant program.
Council adopted the Recreation and Culture Strategy, which provides direction and an implementation framework of priorities for the next several years. The strategy aims to ensure provision of high-quality recreation and culture programs, services and infrastructure.
Council approved amendments to Policy 207, being the Alcohol Management Policy and Policy 214, being the Public Art Policy. Amendments updated language for current City departments and facilities.
