The City of Grande Prairie is currently seeking a lessee for lease space available at the Dave Barr Community Centre (DBCC).

The space available for lease spans two floors and consists of:

  • 1st Floor
    • Approximately 2,150 square feet that includes a large furnished open room with washroom facilities and two small offices located to the rear.
    • Kitchen area with cabinetry, sink, stove, microwave, and fridge
    • Washroom facilities in the rooms
  • 2nd Floor
    • Approximately 4,715 square feet of space divided into two rooms, this room is also furnished and has washroom facilities. (see Appendix D – map #2)
    • Room #1
      • Kitchen area with cabinetry, sink, and microwave
      • Bathroom facilities in the room
    • Room #2
    • Kitchen area with cabinetry, sink, and microwave
    • Washroom facilities in the room

Onsite, dedicated parking stalls are available.

The lease space offers a great opportunity for a multifunctional space that can be configured for use in many ways. 

The space was previously leased for daycare services which is a Grande Prairie City Council advocacy priority.

About the Facility

The DBCC features an ice arena and dryland floor space during the spring and summer as well as dressing rooms and a variety of spaces to host meetings or events. DBCC opened its doors in 1982 and offers child and youth programming including seasonal camps, public skating, shinny hockey, stick and puck and other drop-in style programs. The center has an NHL size ice surface, seating capacity of 150, and is home to Scotty’s Burger Shack (food and beverage service). The facility hosts Grande Prairie Minor Hockey, industrial and adult recreational league hockey, as well as many tournaments throughout the year.

This facility is operated by the City of Grande Prairie with full public access to residents and visitors.

Organizations and individuals are invited to submit an Expression of Interest online at cityofgp.bidsandtenders.ca (No.: EOI-2023-52). Electronic Bid Submission Deadline is August 8, at 2 p.m. Mountain Time.

Respondents are requested to provide detailed information as to proposed use for lease space including a description of the nature of the business contained therein and how long they have been operating.

The City of Grande Prairie will consider all respondents suggested lease rates.
