The community is invited to join the City of Grande Prairie for the annual Heritage Day event on Saturday, August 5 at the Grande Prairie Museum and Heritage Village from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
“Heritage Day is a time to celebrate the history, diversity and various cultures that makes our community such a vibrant, connected and inclusive place to live,” said Mayor Jackie Clayton. “We look forward to welcoming everyone to the Heritage Village and Grande Prairie Museum, where much of our community’s architectural and historical heritage lives.”
Celebrate local history and multiculturalism with many heritage-themed activities, including:
- Community and cultural booths.
- Live acoustic music.
- Old fashioned games and carnival games with prizes.
- HAM radio demonstrations.
- Fiddler and Metis jigger.
- Fur trading activity.
- PARDS petting zoo.
- Local author and reading nook.
- Food trucks with cultural food dishes.
