Nominations are now open to recognize local women who have made a strong impact by promoting equality, providing opportunities for women in the community and breaking barriers in their field through the Women of Influence Awards.

Awards are available in the following categories:

• Young Woman of Influence (Under 30 years old)
• Trailblazing Woman of Influence (31 – 49 years old)
• Distinguished Woman of Influence (50+ years old)

Nomination packages are available at cityofgp.com/womenofinfluence and must be submitted by Tuesday, February 15, 2022. The awards are open to women of all backgrounds, experiences, and industries. An award reception takes place virtually on March 8th, 2022 from 11:00 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. featuring an awards ceremony and keynote speaker, to be announced.

The Women of Influence Awards were created to commemorate International Women’s Day (IWD) in Grande Prairie while celebrating women’s achievements and promote equal opportunity for all.

International Women’s Day (IWD) is an event recognized worldwide to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and to advocate for the continued advancements of equal rights. The IWD 2022 theme is #BreaktheBias. It is a call-to-action to challenge and call out gender bias, discrimination, and stereotyping and seek out and celebrate women’s achievements.
