About
Outside of his role on Council, Mike enjoys reading, exploring a wide range of music, and staying engaged through podcasts. He also values time spent playing card games.
Background & Experience
Born and raised in Ottawa, Mike moved to Grande Prairie in 1973 to work in the forestry industry, operating heavy equipment and building a strong foundation in hands-on work. His career has included roles in postal services, transportation, and parts and delivery, as well as farm machinery sales and construction, where he owned and operated three companies. A certified Journeyman Carpenter with a Red Seal, Mike also worked as an insurance and investment advisor. Councillor O'Connor was elected in 2021.
