About
Born in Prince George B.C. moved to Grande Prairie in 1965 at the age of 4 years and have lived here all my life I attended many schools in the city including the old Holy Cross School, St. Clements, St. Joes, and the Grande Prairie Composite High School where I graduated in 1979. I then entered into a career in Machining then went on to Apprenticeship. I attended NAIT throughout my apprenticeship and received my Red Seal Endorsement in 1986. I started my own business in 1992 ANS firearm safety and training and ran it until a couple of years ago when I handed it over to my son to continue the Business. I was a competitive shooter from the Mid 80's until 2005 I specialized in three Major styles and types of shooting Olympic, Military, Police as well NRA. I was very successful and won many awards.
Background & Experience
President of the Wapiti shooters club and did everything that needed to be done. Recognized Federally and Provincially as a Certified Range Officer and Official Federally Certified Firearms Verifier. President of the Alberta Handgun Association, Board member and Building Committee member of the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum (10 Years).
Chair of the Grande Prairie Airport Commission, Board Member of the GP Tourism, Accessibility advisory Committee, International Day of Peoples with Disabilities sub committee, Deputy Mayor, Public and Protective Services (chair), Combative sports Commission (Chair) GPREP, Nighthawk Recreation area Board Member, Local Immigration Partnership, Grande Prairie Strom Board of Directors.
Community Involvement
- As a councilor I try my very best to attend as many community events that time and schedule allows me. I really do reach out to meet people and their concerns, you can see me at Hanson field, The Cricket field, the county Ball diamonds, The bowling alleys watching special Olympic athletes, and The Eastlink Centre, engaging with people and witnessing the skills people have.
- Served on the Special Olympics Board this past year
- I have supported the Summer games, Winter Games in the past as volunteer along with the Arctic Winter games (2005) Inuit Games.

- I have worked very hard to bring Cricket to the city of Grande Prairie
- I Have my Amateur Radio License (ham Radio) VE6 GUN (Call Sign)
- My Wife Catherine our children and grandchildren. I am very proud of my family!
- Elected to city council 5 times 2010-2025
- Being part of the Police Transition as a Commission Member and the police committee and electing our first chief for GPPS
- I have met all the premiers of Alberta from Peter Lougheed, to our current premier.
- I have been able to meet some incredible individuals as my role as a councilor some famous and many not yet.
