Pride in Community

LSM's dedication to excellence extends beyond their work, reflecting in their unwavering support for the Grande Prairie community. Their contributions include impactful projects at the Sunrise House and active participation in the Festival of Trees for the Grande Prairie Hospital Foundation.

From Humble Beginnings to Industry Leadership

From its inception in a modest shop near Wally’s Kitchen to its current expansive industrial yard, LSM’s growth is a testament to the vision of its founder, Lee Merlo. The company's evolution from a small local shop to a leading industry player underscores the dedication of its employees and its ability to innovate in a dynamic construction landscape.

“We never thought of ourselves as a big company until we started to get out of our area and began meeting and talking to people in other areas," said LSM CEO, Brian Freemark.  "We realized we were amongst one of the top five largest contractors in the province for what we did."

Employee Ownership and Commitment to Apprenticeship

In 2007, LSM transitioned to an employee ownership model, a move that has only strengthened the company's commitment to quality and sustainability. With a collective 300 years of experience in senior leadership, LSM emphasizes the importance of apprenticeship training to pass on knowledge and opportunities to the next generation. Freemark highlights their advocacy for building a strong apprenticeship program in Grande Prairie, aiming to attract and retain apprentices to maintain the region's competitive edge.

A Lasting Legacy

“We take pride in our work; we will go to the ends of the earth to make sure the customer is happy, and that the system is performing to the best of its design capabilities," said Freemark. "When we walk away from any job, like the Dream Homes, it is a great showcase of our residential abilities and the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital really showed everyone what Lee Sheet’s Metal can do. It’s a good legacy for the City and for us.”

With many of their employees serving for 30, 40+ years, LSM has left its mark across the country. This long-standing dedication and commitment to quality continue to define Lee’s Sheet Metal, ensuring a bright future for the company and the community it serves.
