The City of Grande Prairie is set to reinstate parking bans starting on Tuesday, February 27.  The ban restricts parking on permanent snow routes (priority 1 and 2 routes) from Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. until the ban is lifted.

Parking bans come into effect to ensure safe access to roadways during snow removal operations.  Residents are asked to remove parked vehicles from priority 1 and 2 roads. Further details on what defines priority 1 and 2 roads can be found here.

A notice will be published on the City’s Website, Facebook and Twitter pages once the parking ban is lifted.

"Enforcing parking bans on key routes ensures swift snow removal for emergency vehicles, buses, and residents," said Wade Nellis, the City of Grande Prairie's Transportation Director. "Residents should check the City website for snow removal details and relocate vehicles from priority 1 and 2 routes during bans."
