The City of Grande Prairie is proud to announce the outdoor pool is officially opening Saturday, August 24 at noon.
A hallmark in the community, located in Muskoseepi Park, the outdoor pool was first opened in 1962. After a closure in 2013, the pool has now undergone a renovation and is re-opened to the public.
From public swims to swimming lessons and private rental opportunities, the City looks forward to seeing it return as an essential summer hangout for residents and visitors of all ages.
“We are as happy as the rest of the community to see the Grande Prairie Outdoor Pool re-open this weekend,” says Mayor Bill Given. “Since 1964 it has been a place where summer memories have been made for many generations, and we are thrilled to now open up the newly renovated facility as we make the most of the end of summer, and continue to make it a landmark location for years to come.”
The new renovations to the outdoor pool include:
• Tots pool
• Zero beach
• Spanish steps and lily islands
• Games area
• Waterslide
