Delegations

Jenny Stegmeier requested an update on the soccer dome. Council received the presentation as information.

The Grande Prairie Climbing Association attended as a delegate to request a letter of support from City Council towards building a new climbing wall. Council directed Mayor Clayton to write a letter of support for the Grande Prairie Climbing Association.

Upcoming meetings

Council approved Standing Committee meetings to take place on October 29 at 9 a.m. and a City Council meeting to take place on November 4 at 3 p.m.

Appointment of external auditor

Council appointed MNP LLP as the auditor for the City of Grande Prairie for a term of five years, with the option of two one-year extensions.

Rezoning from Commercial Arterial to Direct Control District

Council passed Bylaws C-1212I (amendment to Arbour Hills Area Structure Plan), C-1307A (amendment to Trader Ridge Outline Plan) and C-1260-186 (amendment to Land Use Bylaw). 

The amendments allow for medium to high-density residential development, including multi-attached dwellings or apartment buildings with a maximum height of eight storeys.

Council directed Administration to bring a report back to the appropriate Standing Committee with budget and schedule impacts on expanding conventional transit into the Trader Ridge neighbourhood.
