Proclamations

Council proclaimed June 15 as Lemonade Day in Grande Prairie.

Council proclaimed June as Recreation & Parks Month 2024.

Open Delegations

The Street Performers Festival presented as a delegate requesting $17,000 in sponsorship for their event. Council approved the request, funded through Council's Strategic Initiatives Fund.

The Grande Prairie Circle of Services presented as a delegate requesting $60,000 in City sponsorship for the Grande Prairie Traditional Pow Wow. Council approved gift-in-kind funding in the amount of up to $22,000 for rental and guest services at Bonnetts Energy Centre for this event.

Committee Business

Council received the unaudited financial statements and supporting information for the 2024 Q1 Financial Report (period ending March 31, 2024) for information.

Council approved the recommendation to undertake a process of selling City on 99, with the facility being listed for sale for a maximum of 5 months. 

Public Hearings

Council passed amendments to the Land Use Bylaw C-1260-183. The amendments will amend the DC-5 Direct Control District to broaden the purpose statement and expand the allowable use, namely, to accommodate the Maskwa Medical Centre.

Council had second reading on the Land Use Bylaw C-1260-180 as amended and directed Administration to bring back further information on various areas of the report. The item will come back to a future Council meeting.
