The Grande Prairie Fire Department (GPFD) is launching a new initiative called Camp F.I.R.E. to inspire and empower young women and gender diverse individuals to enter the fire service through hands-on fire service training experience.

Taking place from May 3 to 5, 2024, Camp F.I.R.E. offers participants aged 16 to 20 a unique opportunity to learn about firefighting and personal development. It is aligned with City Council’s strategic priority of creating an inclusive, caring community.
