In accordance with the contract warranty from the Downtown Rehabilitation and Streetscapes Project, the City of Grande Prairie will begin replacing several unhealthy trees along 100 Avenue starting today.

Work is taking place on the west side of 100 Avenue at 102 Street, progressing eastward to 98 Street. The project aims to replace identified unhealthy trees at predetermined locations along this stretch.

“This work is being done under contract enforcement and is covered by warranty,” said Capital Planning and Construction Manager Matt Hinton. "We appreciate the public's cooperation during this process."

The tree replacement work is expected to take five to seven days, depending on weather conditions. During this period, the contractor will utilize parking stalls to install the trees, ensuring minimal disruption by only blocking off the necessary areas for the day’s work.

Additionally, work will be carried out in the planter beds on 100 Avenue between 100 Street and 98 Street.

Motorists and commuters are advised to follow any posted signs and exercise caution around the work areas.
