Starting Thursday, August 8, the City of Grande Prairie begins a comprehensive road rehabilitation on 92 Street between 74 Avenue and Woody Channel (south of 84 Avenue).
The project aims to accommodate both current and future traffic needs, fostering economic growth and enhancing the overall quality and longevity of our roads.
Scope of the Project:
- Asphalt milling and road structure replacement.
- Application of new roadway markings, crosswalk and line painting.
- Landscaping enhancements along the roadway.
To facilitate construction, a reduced speed limit of 30 km/h will be enforced, and drivers are advised to heed all signage and directions from flag persons, expecting potential delays.
Access to local traffic will be maintained, though short-term road closures are anticipated. No transit routes will be affected.
Pathway access on the east side of 92 Street will remain open throughout the construction period.
"The 92 Street rehabilitation project is a critical investment in our city's infrastructure," said Capital Construction Supervisor Mark Hoseasson. "By enhancing our roads, we're preparing for future needs and ensuring a safer, more efficient travel network. We appreciate the patience and understanding of residents as these improvements progress."
The project is expected to be completed in early September, weather permitting.
