The City of Grande Prairie advises that CN is installing new overhead signal masts and signals on the recently installed poles at the 108 Avenue rail crossing on Monday, Sept. 30.

This essential infrastructure upgrade requires a temporary detour for commuters. Variable message boards will be displayed in advance to help guide traffic. The work is expected to take one day, weather permitting.

Key Details:

  • Location: 108 Avenue CN rail crossing between 98 Street and 96 Street.
  • Detour:
    • Eastbound traffic: Drivers should detour at 98 Street, proceeding south to 99 Avenue or continue north to 116 Avenue.
    • Westbound traffic: Drivers should detour at 96 Street, proceeding south to 100 Avenue or continue north to 116 Avenue.

Transit Impacts: 

Transit Route 7 will be detoured along 99 Street between 116 Avenue and 108 Avenue. 

Stops 748, 750, 752, 754, and 756 will be temporarily inaccessible. 

Passengers are advised to use Stop 758 or the Prairie Mall during this period.
