The City of Grande Prairie begins a three-day Pole Monitoring Program on July 8, weather permitting. The program involves the inspection of structural components of traffic signals, pylon signs, and score clocks to ensure their ongoing reliability.
The inspections take place at 21 locations throughout the city. Despite these activities, the impact on traffic will be minimal. There are no planned road closures, although temporary lane closures may occur while crews are present.
"Traffic is expected to be able to move in all directions at these sites,” says Grande Prairie’s Capital Construction Supervisor, Mark Hoseasson. “The work is of short duration, and we expect minimal impact to the travelling public."
Drivers are asked to heed any posted signage and directions from traffic control personnel during this period. The City appreciates the community's cooperation as these essential inspections are carried out.
