City of Grande Prairie continues road rehabilitation to 116 Avenue and 102 Street locations

The City of Grande Prairie continues its 2024 road rehabilitation project with resurfacing work first on 116 Avenue followed by 102 Street. This project is part of a broader initiative to upgrade several key roads. Work is ongoing tomorrow through to end of September, weather permitting.

Project Locations:

  • 116 Avenue westbound between 92 Street and Lakeland Drive and 116 Avenue between 88 Street and 92 Street begins tomorrow, September 12
  • Work on 102 Street between 124 Avenue and 132 Avenue is anticipated to begin September 16.

Scope of Work: 

  • Roadway asphalt milling
  • Storm sewer infrastructure repairs
  • Concrete work
  • Asphalt overlay paving
  • Line markings
  • Landscaping

What to Expect: 

  • During construction, motorists should expect temporary lane closures within construction zones. The City urges all commuters to exercise caution and follow directional signage.
  • No transit impacts are expected during this project, but delays are expected. 
  • Pedestrian access remains open throughout the construction period.
