The Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) teams at the City of Grande Prairie, County of Grande Prairie, and the towns of Beaverlodge, Sexsmith, and Wembley are proudly initiating the call for nominations for the Annual Passionate Heart Awards.
This year marks a significant milestone for the event, with ABC Recycling coming on board as the award sponsor for the Business category for the 2024 awards. Notably, ABC Recycling was also the recipient of this award in 2023. The involvement of ABC Recycling as a sponsor not only reflects their commitment to community, but also enhances the recognition and support for their invaluable work being done in the region.
“With the nominations for the Passionate Heart Awards now open, we invite you to celebrate and nominate those extraordinary individuals and organizations dedicated to enhancing our community's social landscape. Their exceptional commitment and tireless efforts towards the betterment of others in the social services sector deserves our recognition,” said Anna Stewart, Passionate Hearts Committee Chair.
Award categories include:
- Exceptional Service for front-line staff with two or more years of experience in:
- Policing Services
- Child and Family Services
- Youth Services
- Social Services
- Education
- Exceptional Team for non-profit social agencies or social services teams.
- Business Award for businesses that provide outstanding support to developing the community.
- Chris Henderson Lifetime Service Award for individuals with 10+ years of significant social service in the community.

The award ceremony will take place during the Passionate Heart Celebration, scheduled for 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at the Bonnetts Energy Centre in the City of Grande Prairie. Luncheon tickets are priced at $30.00 and are available for purchase at www.bonnettsenergycentre.com.
