The City of Grande invites residents to attend a Neighbourhood Association engagement session on May 10 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Centre 2000 (11330 106 Street).

“Neighbourhood Associations play an important role in making Grande Prairie an exceptional place to live, learn, work and play,” said Jackie Clayton, City of Grande Prairie Mayor. “We want to provide residents with the tools needed to create their own Neighborhood Associations with confidence. All members of the community are invited to come to the engagement session to provide feedback, learn more about Neighbourhood Associations or both.”

The engagement session aims to:

  • Provide information about how to re-vitalize an existing Neighbourhood Association.
  • Provide information about how to start a Neighbourhood Association.
  • Receive public feedback identifying new amenities residents would like to see.
  • Receive public feedback to help evaluate existing amenities.

What are Neighbourhood Associations?

Neighbourhood Associations are registered societies run by a volunteer-led board of directors. They act as advocates on behalf of the neighbourhood for community needs and help create a fun community where residents are better connected.

Neighbourhood Associations also provide a framework to educate, communicate and support various community initiatives.
