Celebrations for Alberta's 44th Heritage Day are taking place on August 6 at Muskoseepi Park and the Grande Prairie Museum to showcase traditional Canadian heritage and multiculturalism.

From 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Muskoseepi Park is showcasing a variety of cultural music and dance performances by local and regional artists in the Amphitheatre. Guests are invited to browse multicultural displays and enjoy local food vendors.

At the Grande Prairie Museum and Heritage Village from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. there will be featured storytellers and demonstrations of traditional trades and crafts, such as blacksmithing, yarn spinning and candle making. Old-fashioned races and games of chance and skill will also take place.

Inside the Community Room, the Grande Prairie Centre for Newcomers is hosting a Kermesse, or cultural exchange, where art, clothing and lifestyle items from multicultural backgrounds will be displayed.
