Grande Prairie is proud to be announced as a tour stop for the 2020-2021 Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling season schedule.

The City will be hosting the KIOTI Tractor Tour Challenge from November 3 to 8, 2020 at the Coca-Cola Centre.

“Hosting the KIOTI Tractor Tour Challenge and being part of the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling for the 2020-2021 season is a huge opportunity for our community, and we are immensely proud to be selected as part of the tour,” says Catherine Ridgeway, Events and Entertainment Manager.

“Being selected as a host city is a testament to the world-class status of our facilities, and the passion of our curling community. We look forward to collaborating with Sportsnet, the Grande Prairie Curling Club and volunteers to make this event a success.”

The event will be broadcast by Sportsnet from coast-to-coast and streamed online, spotlighting Grande Prairie on a national level. It is anticipated to bring in thousand of visitors to the city, including 30 teams from all over the world, which will result in a strong economic and social impact for the community.

Owned and operated by Sportsnet since 2012, the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling is an elite series of six curling events, which are part of the World Curling Tour and feature the best men’s and women's teams from across Canada and around the world. Awarding equal purses to both men’s and women’s teams, Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling presents $2.1 million in total prize money each season.
