Grande North Winter Festival returns to downtown Grande Prairie January 12 to 14 at three locations; Bonnetts Energy Centre, Montrose Cultural Centre and Muskoseepi Park.

“Grande North Winter Festival is a fun way for our community to get out and celebrate our winter city,” said Mayor Jackie Clayton. “High calibre events like Grande North Winter Festival create a tourism draw for our downtown core, highlight our community’s vibrant spirit while supporting enhanced quality of life for our residents through free, family-friendly activities.”

Grande North Winter Festival aims to create a unique experience focusing on ice and snow, embracing the colder season, providing residents an event to look forward to during winter and encouraging community connection.

Residents are invited to visit the downtown core to experience various ice and snow themed activities at various locations listed below.

Bonnetts Energy Centre

Bonnetts Energy Centre is hosting the following events during the Grande North Winter Festival event:

  • Ice gardens.
  • Live DJ.
  • Ice carving demonstrations.
  • Fletcher Mudryk LLP Chippers Interactive Ice Carving.
  • Smores and hotdog station.
  • Snowball target.
  • Live entertainment in The Bowes.

Montrose Cultural Centre

The following free activities are taking place at Montrose Cultural Centre at various times throughout the weekend:

  • Live DJ.
  • GreenPath Skating Oval.
  • Aquatera Ice Slide.
  • The Office Snow Maze.
  • Food trucks.

Muskoseepi Park

Muskoseepi Park is hosting the below listed activities throughout the weekend:

  • Horse and wagon rides.
  • Maple taffy.
