The City’s annual free outdoor concert and block party, Experience Grande Prairie, returns to the City Centre on Friday, August 30 for its third year.
The event highlights Grande Prairie as a fun, youthful and vibrant community, featuring live music, beer gardens, food trucks and community booths. The event also features a cultural area, facilitated by the Grande Prairie Multicultural Association (GPIA), who will be on-site with vendors.
This year’s concert features renowned Canadian rocker Kim Mitchell, known for hits like Go For Soda, Patio Lanterns, I Am a Wild Party and Rock N Roll Duty. More live entertainment announcements will be published on the City of Grande Prairie Facebook and Instagram as they are added to the lineup.
Activities take place from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. (with the concert starting at 7 p.m.) on Festival Avenue (101 Avenue, between 100 Street and 102 Street).
“Events like Experience Grande Prairie allow us to come together and enjoy music, food and community,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “We’re excited to see this event continue to grow and bring in exceptional talent year after year. We hope everyone comes out to Experience Grande Prairie with us!”
