Individual athletes and teams representing the Province of Alberta and competing at an amateur level who have qualified to attend national or championship competition, not including invitational tournaments, may be eligible for Pursuit of Excellence Travel Funding for Athletes. Funding is limited to $250 for in Province travel, $500 for out of province, and $1,000 internationally up to a maximum of $1,000 per athlete, per year.

Criteria

• Individuals and teams who have qualified, through points earned, to attend national or championship competitions will be eligible for assistance.
• Applications must include letters of support from a coach/mentor.
• Applications must include confirmation of membership with provincial/national sport association.
• Athletes must be representing the Province of Alberta and competing at an amateur level.
• Individual/team attendance at invitational tournaments will not be considered.
• Athletes requesting funding assistance to attend sports camps are also ineligible to apply for assistance from this fund.
• Additional budget/cost information may be requested for some travel funding applications.
• Applications must be received prior to the event occurring. Applications received after an event will not be accepted.
