The Community Opioid Response Task Force was launched in December 2017 by previous Mayor Bill Given in response to the opioid crisis in Grande Prairie. The purpose of the Task Force is to coordinate community efforts in responding to the opioid crisis to develop a response based on local needs and resources.

The Task Force is composed of school district representatives, health care representatives, RCMP, social services organizations, community members, and individuals with lived experience in the community, and several municipal government departments.

The Task Force maintains a webpage with connections and resources in prevention, harm reduction, policing, and treatment and recovery. The webpage also has a locally-produced 13 video series featuring a range of lived experiences and genuine stories shared from people all touched by the Grande Prairie opioid crisis. Visit everyoneisimpacted.com
