About the Event

The Women of Influence Awards were created to commemorate International Women’s Day (IWD) in Grande Prairie while celebrating women’s achievements and promoting equal opportunity for all.

International Women’s Day (IWD) is an event recognized worldwide to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women and to advocate for the continued advancements of equal rights. The IWD 2023 theme is #EmbraceEquity. The theme motivates others to consider, understand and modify behaviours to improve gender parity with our own spheres of influence. Embracing equity to foster inclusivity and diversity that helps to drive success for everyone. While celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political advancements of women.

About the Keynote Speaker

The Women of Influence Awards are pleased to announce Coryn Briggs as the keynote speaker for this year’s event.

Coryn is a local empowerment coach, author, and yoga for trauma instructor.  She is an active and positive voice in Grande Prairie, and was instrumental in organizing the very popular GP Night Markets in 2022.  She helps individuals access their inner strength, find their voice, and live their best lives. Through one-on-one coaching, workshops, and speaking engagements, she motivates others to overcome obstacles, find clarity and direction, and build self-confidence. She is an impactful leader and serves with a deep commitment to mental health and inclusion.

Coryn’s talk at the lunch event will bridge the International Women’s Day theme of #EmbraceEquity and the Women of Influence Awards.  She’ll provide a powerful message about embracing change and resiliency in healthy ways, and inspiring women to acknowledge their achievements.
