2024 Municipal Census

2024 Municipal Census

The City of Grande Prairie will be conducting a municipal census from May 1 – June 30, 2024. The primary purpose of conducting the census is to produce a total population count of residents in the City. The count provides the basis for calculating per capita provincial grants.

The updated population count will help to:

  • ensure the City receives appropriate grant funding from the province;
  • inform local planning for services and amenities; and
  • attract new economic development opportunities.

PIN cards will be delivered to residents starting May 1. Using your unique PIN, you’ll be able to complete the Census online. Census enumerators will be coming door-to-door from May 26 to June 30 to assist anyone who has not completed the census online.

If you complete your census early, you’ll avoid a knock from one of our enumerators and have more chances to win a gift card to a local grocery store. Gift card drawings will occur throughout the enumeration period, so count yourself in early!
