Thursday, July 06, 2006 8:58:10 AM

Council members from the County of Grande Prairie No. 1 and City of Grande Prairie met yesterday to discuss working together on growth issues for the region. Both Councils shared information gathered and have agreed to continue discussions. Future meeting have been scheduled for August and October.

Yesterday’s meeting was facilitated by Alberta Municipal Affairs who have identified the next priority for discussion is municipal values with a regional vision. What will this region look like in the next 25 to 50 years? What does each municipality need to get done to foster sustainable growth? How will these developments be a benefit for all municipalities in the region? Both County and City Councils will share their vision for the future at the meeting in August.
