The intent of this Invitation to Bid is to solicit and receive formal offers to construct the Grande Prairie Aquatics & Wellness Multiplex for a Stipulated Price Contract, in accordance with the Contract Documents.
There is a pre-bid meeting on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 1 PM at the Community Knowledge Campus Site.
BIDS will be received until 2 p.m. (local time), Thursday, September 11, 2008, at the:

Bids must have the seal of the Bidder affixed and must be submitted in a sealed opaque envelope clearly marked T-34-400-08 Grande Prairie Aquatics & Wellness Multiplex.
Bid documents may be obtained by Bidders from the Purchasing Department of the City of Grande Prairie on or after 2:00 p.m. (Local Time), Tuesday, August 5, 2008.
Drawings and specifications will be available for viewing in the offices of the Prime Consultant; Barr Ryder Architects & Interior Designers, 210, 10190 – 104 Street, Edmonton, Alberta, T5J 1A7. Drawings and Specifications will also be available for viewing at the offices of the Grande Prairie, Edmonton and Calgary Construction Association Offices.
Drawings and Specifications will be posted on the Alberta Construction Association’s COOLNET web site.
A $200.00 refundable bid deposit in the form of cash or certified cheque, payable to the City of Grande Prairie will be required to obtain each set of Bid documents. Each General Contractor will be allowed to obtain two sets of Bid documents. Each major mechanical and electrical subtrade will be allowed to obtain two sets of Bid documents. All other subtrades will be allowed to obtain one set of Bid documents. The Bid deposit will be returned by the City of Grande Prairie only if the Bid documents are returned unmarked and in the condition originally issued.
Each Bid must be accompanied by the Bid Security as specified in the Bid Documents. The City of Grande Prairie reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids, or to accept the Bid which the City of Grande Prairie deems to be in its own best interest. Bids submitted by Fax will not be accepted nor considered.
Bids will be publicly opened immediately after the time of bid closing.
